titleOfInvention | Infusion device with leak indicator |
abstract | The present invention provides a delivery device for introducing a fluid into a patient. The conveying device comprises: a base with a bottom surface for attachment to the skin of a patient, and a cannula extending from the bottom surface for penetrating the skin of the patient. The fluid supply conduit has a first lumen connected to the cannula for supplying a fluid to the cannula, wherein the fluid comprises an active agent and a stabilizer. The catheter has a second lumen with an open end for capturing and carrying leaked fluid from the administration site away from the administration site. The second lumen has an amount of leak detector including a color change to react with the stabilizing agent and produce an indication visible to the patient through the catheter. The leak detector is spaced from the infusion site and positioned in a location visible to the patient through the catheter. |
