titleOfInvention Synthetic method of aryl methyl alkyl sulfone
abstract Sulfones are important pharmaceutical and biologically active compounds. The now widely accepted herbicide mesotrione and biologically active compounds (such as gamma secretase inhibitors) belong to the sulphone class of compounds. In addition, sulfones drugs may prevent Alzheimer's disease. Sulfones are also widely used as intermediates for organic synthesis. Among the sulfone compounds, arylmethyl alkyl sulfone, which is an important starting material for the synthesis of triarylmethane, has received wide attention as a leuco dye, a photochromic agent, a structural unit for forming a dendrimer, and a substrate for theoretical and biological studies. This patent developed a three component reaction catalyzed by a recoverable ion exchange resin catalyst Amberlyst-15 to synthesize arylmethyl hydrocarbyl sulfones in good and excellent yields over a wide range of substrates. The aryl methyl alkyl sulfone is synthesized by using easily obtained aryl/alkyl aldehyde, aryl/alkyl sodium sulfinate and polymethoxybenzene as raw materials through a one-pot method, and is prepared through the formation of C-C and C-S bonds. The synthesis process has the advantages of mild reaction conditions, simple operation, generally high yield, wide substrate range and the like.
