abstract |
A rapid exchange microcatheter (600) for accessing intracranial neurovasculature. A side opening (604) through the sidewall is located a first distance proximal to the distal-most tip. The proximal opening (606) at the proximal end of the side opening is a second distance from the distal-most tip. A distal reinforcing catheter portion (650) extends from the distal region to a point near the side opening. A proximal reinforcing catheter portion (652) extends a distance from a point near the side opening toward the proximal end of the catheter body. The side opening is positioned within the gap (G) between the proximal end of the distal reinforcing duct portion and the distal end of the proximal reinforcing duct portion. The payload (505) of the brain therapy device is received within the lumen of the proximal end of the side opening. Related apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed. |
