abstract The invention provides a synthesis method of a carborane compound, which is suitable for a synthesis method of a B (4,5) alkyl substituted carborane compound. The synthesis steps comprise: 1-carboxyl-2- (substituted) carborane and propenol are taken as raw materials, in the presence of a catalyst and an additive, the reaction temperature is 70-130 ℃, the reaction time is 1-36 h, and the cross coupling reaction is carried out in a solvent to generate the B (4,5) alkyl substituted carborane. The reactants involved in the invention have good universality, and the functional groups of the substrate have good compatibility; the invention uses the cheaper propenol as the alkylating reagent, thus having lower cost; the synthesis method provided by the invention has the advantages of high selectivity and yield, single reaction system composition, simple post-treatment and easy implementation.
