| abstract |
The present invention discloses optical films comprising multiple interference layers. Each interference layer reflects or transmits light primarily through optical interference. The total number of interference layers is less than about 1000. The plurality of interference layers have an average optical transmittance greater than about 85% for a first polarization state and greater than about 80% for an orthogonal second polarization state for substantially normally incident light within a predetermined wavelength range % average optical reflectance, and less than about 0.2% average optical transmittance for the second polarization state. |
