abstract The invention discloses a stereoselective synthesis method of a 6 beta-hydroxymorphine derivative, which comprises the following steps: (i) reducing the compound shown in the formula VI into a compound shown in the formula VII by sodium borohydride in a hydrophilic organic solvent in the presence of catalytic amount of C1-C4 alkanoic acid; (ii) (ii) separating the compound of formula VII obtained in step (i) to obtain a compound of formula VIII; the definitions of the substituents in the formulae VI, VII and VIII are described in the specification.
