Integrated ion exchange disposal and treatment system |
abstract |
Tank containers for temporary storage and subsequent consolidation of waste material by autoclaving are disclosed. In embodiments, the tank container comprises at least one ion exchange material, and the tank container is configured to: contain the ion exchange material without releasing the contaminant ions after the ion exchange material is exchanged with contaminant ions; and consolidate by hot isostatic pressing . Also disclosed is contacting the fluid waste with an ion exchange material, wherein the ion exchange material is located in a canister container; evacuating the canister container; and hot isostatic pressing (HIP) the canister container until the canister container collapses under HIP conditions. |
