titleOfInvention | Anti-occlusion IV tubing port |
abstract | An infusion pump (100) includes a housing (110). The housing includes a tube port (150) adapted to receive an intravenous ("IV") tube (120). The tube port includes a tube channel (240) and a rib (280). The tube channel has an inlet end and an outlet end. Ribs are positioned along the channel near the outlet end. As the tube passes through the tube port, the ribs are formed to extend towards the tube, thereby recessing the tube and tending to prevent complete blockage of the tube. The tube port may also include a plurality of ribs positioned around the perimeter of the tube port on the outside of the housing. The plurality of ribs are configured to prevent blockage in the tube when the tube is flexed on the outside of the housing. |
