abstract |
Provided is a substrate coated with a non-stick fluoropolymer coating having excellent abrasion and scratch resistance. The coating contains: i.) a continuous primer layer adhered to the substrate containing the polymeric binder, the first fluoropolymer and the first inorganic film hardener particles, ii.) a discontinuous intermediate coat a layer containing aggregate particles adhered to the primer layer and distributed discontinuously across the surface of the primer layer to reveal exposed areas of the surface of the primer layer, wherein a portion of the aggregate particles are clustered, and wherein the aggregate particles contain the second fluoropolymer and the second inorganic film hardener particles, and iii.) a topcoat containing a primer layer adhered to the intermediate coating and at points where the intermediate coating is not present The third fluoropolymer of the exposed areas of the surface. |
