titleOfInvention | A device and method for continuous growth of carbon nanotubes |
abstract | The invention relates to the technical field of arc discharge thermal plasma methods, in particular to an arc device for continuous growth of carbon nanotubes and a method thereof. Recrystallization produces carbon nanotubes with a high degree of graphitization. The device mainly includes an arc chamber, a constant temperature chamber and a deposition chamber, which are connected in series through pipes. The arc chamber contains a metal anode and a graphite arc slot cathode with a curved angle. The gas to be ignited is injected into the arc chamber from the graphite slot, and a stable arc is formed after a voltage is applied between the two electrodes. The outside of the arc chamber adopts a thermal insulation shell, while the deposition chamber adopts a double-layer water-cooled stainless steel cavity wall, and a cage-type collection device is arranged in the deposition chamber. After the carbon source material is catalytically decomposed in the arc chamber, it enters the constant temperature chamber and starts to grow, and finally condenses in the deposition chamber. The incompletely reacted gas can be further collected and injected into the combined device for cyclic catalytic reaction. |
