A branched polyimide of formula (I), wherein G is a group having a t-valence, present in an amount of 0.01 to 10 mol%, or 0.05 to 5 mol%, or 0.1 to 4 mol%, or 0.1 to 3 mol% , each of Q, M, D, V and R is as defined herein, q is 0 or 1, m is 0 or 1, d is 0 or 1, p is 1 or 2, t is 2 to 6, preferably is 2 to 4, and each n is independently the same or different, and is 1 to 1,000, provided that the sum of all values of n is greater than 4, wherein the branched polyimide has a zero shear of 500 to 15,000 Pa·s Viscosity, rheology ratio 1.1 to 5, and strain hardening ratio 1 to 6. |
