A method of separating and processing a particulate target using an apparatus comprising: at least one capillary comprising a tip orifice and a lumen, a positioning element capable of positioning the capillary tip orifice, a drain/suction element capable of draining process fluid from the capillary and drawing process fluid into the capillary, wherein the lumen comprises process fluid, the method comprising the steps of: a. positioning a particle target to be separated and processed, b. positioning a tip hole of a capillary tube using a positioning element such that the tip hole of the capillary tube is close to the particle target, c. discharging a quantity of processing liquid so as to enclose the particle target in the processing liquid, d. sucking the particle target enclosed in the processing liquid into a lumen of the capillary tube, e. processing the particle target within the lumen of the capillary tube including the processing liquid. |
