The present invention generally relates to nucleic acid molecules whose DNA or RNA or protein expression profile changes represent neogenesis, a propensity for neogenesis, and/or the progression of neogenesis. More specifically, the present invention relates to nucleic acid molecules whose DNA or RNA or protein expression profile alterations represent the occurrence and/or progression of colorectal neoplasms (eg, adenomas or adenocarcinomas). Uses of the DNA or expression profiles of the invention include, but are not limited to, the diagnosis and/or monitoring of colorectal neoplasms (eg, colorectal adenocarcinoma). Accordingly, another aspect of the invention relates to screening individuals for neogenesis, predisposition to neogenesis and/or neogenesis by screening for modulation of DNA or RNA or protein expression profiles of one or more nucleic acid molecular markers method of progress. |
