abstract |
The present disclosure relates to manipulating electrical activity in a subject's brain to promote wakefulness. The system includes: a sensory stimulator; a sensor configured to generate output signals conveying information related to a subject's brain activity, central nervous system activity, and/or peripheral nervous system activity; and a processor configured to: receiving a target wake-up moment for the subject; determining one or more activity parameters for the subject during a sleep process; determining whether the one or more activity parameters indicate a predetermined time for the subject prior to the target wake-up moment amount is in deep sleep; and in response to the one or more activity parameters indicating that the subject is in deep sleep, causing one or more sensory stimulators to direct the activity parameter and facilitate/accelerate prior to the target arousal moment The transition from deep sleep to light sleep. |
