titleOfInvention | Fluorescent dye GelRed staining and quantification of cellular DNA for cancer screening and diagnosis |
abstract | The invention discloses a cancer screening and diagnosis method for dyeing and quantifying cell DNA with fluorescent dye GelRed. It uses GelRed as a dye to stain cell smears or nuclei in cells and tissue sections, take pictures under a fluorescence microscope, and perform relative quantification of DNA in each nucleus according to the fluorescence intensity of each nucleus. Cells with abnormal DNA content (aneuploidy or ploidy greater than 4.5) are suspected cancer cells. The number and morphology of suspected cancer cells can be used for cancer screening and diagnosis. The dyeing method provided by the invention has the advantages of fast dyeing time, simple operation and accurate quantification; and is widely used, can quantify the DNA of cells in cell smears, tissue sections and cultured cells, and can be used for cancer sample screening. |
