The present invention relates to magnesium alloys suitable for use as corrodible downhole articles. Magnesium alloys comprising: (a) 2wt%-7wt% Gd, (b) 0wt%-2wt% Y, (c) 0wt%-5.0wt% Nd, and (d) at least 80wt% Mg, and have a ‑10 Measured at least 22% elongation. The present invention also relates to downhole tools comprising magnesium alloys, methods for producing magnesium alloys, and methods of hydraulic fracturing comprising using downhole tools comprising magnesium alloys. |
