The present invention relates to corrosion-resistant permanent magnets, methods of producing corrosion-resistant permanent magnets, and intravascular blood pumps comprising the same. The magnet is corrosion resistant due to a composite coating comprising a metal layer, an optional metal oxide layer, a layer formed from poly(2-chloro-p-xylene), and a metal oxide layer and a poly (2-chloro-p-xylene) layer between layers. |
