The present invention relates to a lithium electrode and a lithium secondary battery including the same. The lithium electrode includes: a lithium metal layer; an aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) layer formed on the lithium metal layer; and a carbon layer formed on the aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ) layer. According to the present invention, the aluminum oxide layer can prevent direct reaction between the nonaqueous electrolyte and the lithium metal layer. In particular, since the aluminum oxide layer has no conductivity, lithium precipitation occurs between the lithium metal layer and the aluminum oxide layer, so that lithium metal does not precipitate on the protective layer. Further, the role of the carbon layer is to generate a stable SEI film on the carbon layer. |
