abstract This application relates to collaboration that is ubiquitous in managed applications. This document describes methods and systems for collaborative features that are ubiquitous in managed application environments. A method is provided, comprising: encapsulating a first managed application and a second managed application with a collaboration feature; determining, by a client agent and based on a policy associated with the client computing device, a first managed application for execution on the client computing device a managed mode of a managed application, wherein the policy indicates a plurality of modes including at least an unmanaged mode and a managed mode; a second managed application for execution on the client computing device is determined by the client agent and based on the policy in response to determining the managed mode of the first managed application, permitting presentation of the collaboration feature in conjunction with presentation of the first managed application; and in response to determining the unmanaged mode of the second managed application, by the client The end agent prohibits the presentation of the collaboration feature in conjunction with presentation of the second managed application.
