abstract The present invention relates to the cultivation of marine microalgae, especially the unicellular marine microalgae of Rhodophyta, including a culture medium for marine microalgae cultivation and a cultivation method thereof. In the marine microalgae medium of the present invention, the molar ratio of carbon to nitrogen is greater than or equal to 0.05. Using the culture medium of the invention to cultivate marine microalgae can promote the growth of marine microalgae; and within a specific C/N ratio range, the content of oil in algal cells and the proportion of ω-6 fatty acids can be increased.
