abstract |
The present invention relates to a method of providing a multilayer coating on a substrate surface, comprising the method steps of: (i) providing said substrate; (ii) depositing at least one metal oxide compound on said substrate of said substrate (iii) thermally treating said surface of said substrate such that a metal oxide is formed thereon; (iv) treating said surface of said substrate with a processing solution comprising at least one nitrogen-containing polymer processing additive (v) treating the surface of the substrate with an activation solution; and (vi) treating the surface of the substrate with a metallizing solution such that a metal or metal alloy is deposited thereon. The present invention further relates to the use of processing additives as enhancers for metal deposition. |
