titleOfInvention Breathable membrane with microbial barrier properties
abstract Films for medical devices and/or packaging comprising polyethylene-poly(ethylene oxide) amphiphilic graft copolymers in their polyethylene and poly(ethylene oxide) base polymer formulations ( PE‑g‑PEO). The film can be treated to include a nitric oxide releaser incorporating the PE-g-PEO. Also provided is an antimicrobial agent for inclusion in a medical device, comprising: an olefin-poly(ethylene oxide) amphiphilic graft copolymer, wherein a portion of the poly(ethylene oxide) comprises a End groups of nitric oxide releasers. The amphiphilic graft copolymer of the antimicrobial agent may comprise polyethylene-poly(ethylene oxide) amphiphilic graft copolymer (PE-g-PEO), polypropylene-poly(ethylene oxide) Affinity graft copolymers (PP‑g‑PEO), or mixtures thereof.
