The present application discloses a microfluidic chip for culturing and in vitro experiments of 3D organotypic cultures. Experiments can be performed directly on organotypic cultures in microfluidic chips. The microfluidic chip includes at least one microfluidic unit comprising two fluidic compartments, eg, an upper and lower portion, separated by a permeable support structure, one or more openings for the fluidic compartment, and A set of covers that are interchangeable with inserts. Permeable support structures are used as supports for organotypic cultures. The upper and lower compartments may include inlets and outlets that allow fluid to perfuse into the lower and upper compartments. The opening can be closed with a lid or an insert. |
