titleOfInvention | Glaucoma treatment device and method |
abstract | The device may be implanted in the eye to treat glaucoma and/or dry eye. The devices described herein include a body defining a lumen and having first and second ends and outer and lumen surfaces. The body has a length sufficient to provide fluid communication between the anterior chamber of the eye and the tear film through the lumen when the device is implanted in the sclera. The body may include a rounded distal edge. The distal portion of the body may be flared laterally. The body may include a central body portion that is laterally narrower than the distal and proximal portions of the body. Methods of treating glaucoma and/or dry eye are also described, wherein the device is implanted in the sclera of a diseased eye. |
