The invention relates to a polytetrafluoroethylene copolymer emulsion, in particular to a method for preparing a water-in-solvent emulsion, comprising the following steps: a. dissolving a tetrafluoroethylene copolymer in a water-miscible organic solvent, b. providing an aqueous phase, c. . Dissolving an agent comprising one of a water-soluble agent and a hydrophobic agent, and d. Combining the tetrafluoroethylene copolymer with the dissolved agent such that the emulsion is kinetically stable. The present invention relates to a class of fluorinated copolymers, such as PTFE copolymers, which are soluble in low toxicity solvents, such as Class III solvents, and which are capable of forming stable water-in-solvent emulsions comprising dissolved Fluorinated copolymers in low toxicity solvents and hydrophilic agents (eg, therapeutic agents) dissolved in aqueous solvents such as water or saline. |
