A content recording apparatus (401) comprising: an obtaining unit (411) for obtaining content having a variable-length packet structure; an encryption unit (412) for encrypting the obtained content to generate encrypted data; and a recording unit (413) ) to record the generated encrypted data to the recording medium in fixed-length block units. The encrypted data includes an invalidation area that is not necessary for reproduction of the content, and the recording unit (413) records the size of the invalidation area on the recording medium. |
