abstract | The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a compound of formula I comprising: a) combining a compound of formula 2 with a suitable boric acid, trifluoroborate or borate under argon and in the presence of a catalyst and base Coupling in the presence of a suitable solvent followed by isolation of the product as an acid addition salt to provide a compound of formula Ia wherein the leaving group O-SO2 - R in said formula 2 is selected from trifluoromethanesulfonic acid ester group, tosylate group, mesylate group, benzenesulfonate group, o-nitrobenzenesulfonate group or p-bromobenzenesulfonate group; and b) by using Treatment with at least a stoichiometric equivalent of a suitable base converts an acid addition salt of formula Ia to a compound of formula I, where the acid HX of formula Ia includes a suitable organic or inorganic acid. |
