abstract | The present invention relates to methods and systems for testing the presence of a material (e.g., one or more analyte types) in a sample, and more particularly for improved single enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) testing and Other variants of Single Enzyme-Linked Molecular Assay (SELMA). Background and false positives are reduced because there are at least two detection cycles, wherein each detection cycle comprises the steps of a) triggering a signal from the captured and labeled analyte, b) recording a signal from the captured and labeled analyte. The number and position of the capture sites for the signal of the labeled analyte, c) and before further detection cycles are performed, the signal is inactivated. |
