abstract | The present invention discloses a process for preparing a compound comprising reacting a nucleophile with an alkyl fluoroalkyl sulfonate in the presence of a base having the formula NR1R2R3, wherein R1 and R2 are independently 2-methylpropyl or isopropyl propyl and R3 is -CH(R4)(R5), wherein R4 and R5 are the same or different alkyl groups, optionally linked to form a ring. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of alkyl fluoroalkyl sulfonates. The present invention further relates to the use of bases in chemical reactions containing alkyl fluoroalkyl sulfonates. The processes and applications described are suitable for the preparation of compounds, reactants or intermediates thereof, particularly for the preparation of APIs or reactants such as everolimus and reactants used in their preparation. |
