abstract A thermoelectric conversion material comprising: a base material, the base material being a semiconductor; and an additive element different from an element constituting the base material. Additional energy bands formed by the additive elements exist within the forbidden band of the substrate. The density of states of the additional energy band has a ratio of 0.1 or more to the maximum value of the density of states of the valence band adjacent to the forbidden band of the substrate.
