abstract |
A method of analyzing substrates in contact with fluids present in industrial systems is provided. The method includes generating a series of digital images of the substrate while the substrate is in contact with the fluid present in the industrial system. A region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate is defined. Corrosion features in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate are identified. The corrosion features in the region of interest in the series of digital images of the substrate are analyzed to determine corrosion trends of the industrial system. In certain embodiments of the method, the fluid is industrial water and the industrial system is an industrial water system. |
