titleOfInvention Tire with reduced weight bead area
abstract The invention relates to a tyre (1) having a radial carcass reinforcement formed by a single-layer reinforcing element (2), the single-layer reinforcing element (2) being turned up around a bead wire (4) so as to be anchored in each bead (3). According to the invention, the turn-up (7) of the carcass reinforcement layer and the main part of the carcass reinforcement layer are the only layers of reinforcing elements present in the sidewalls, said layers of reinforcing elements having an elongation at break of less than 6%. The arrangement and selection of the polymer compound in the bead (3) region of the tire leads to an increase in the endurance performance.
