The present invention relates to the field of solid materials for absorbing lithium. In particular, the present invention relates to a new process for the preparation of crystalline solid materials of formula (LiCl) x 2Al(OH) 3 .nH 2 O, preferably shaped in the form of extrudates, wherein n is from 0.01 to 10, x is 0.4 to 1, wherein the method comprises: a step a) of precipitating boehmite under specific temperature and pH conditions; a step of contacting the resulting precipitate with LiCl; preferably forming by at least one of acid extrusion-kneading and the method also includes a final hydrothermal treatment step, all such steps that when the resulting material is used in a lithium extraction method from a salt solution, the resulting material increases its lithium adsorption capacity, adsorption capacity, and adsorption capacity compared to prior art materials Kinetics and Li/Boron Selectivity. |
