abstract |
The present invention relates to methods, kits and systems for imaging blood samples. The present disclosure provides methods for imaging blood samples and kits and systems for implementing the methods. The method comprises introducing a cell suspension comprising red blood cells onto a substrate surface of a carrier having a vertical height (H) greater than or equal to a vertical depth (h) of the cell suspension when on the substrate carrier, The cell suspension comprises a cell concentration (C) determined by a defined function; the cells in the cell suspension (without exerting any force thereon) are allowed to settle onto the basal surface of the carrier to settle on the basal surface of the carrier forming a cell monolayer; and acquiring at least one microscopic image of at least a portion of the cell monolayer; wherein by setting a depth of field (DOF) of no greater than 20% of the vertical height of the cell suspension when settling on the substrate surface The microscope acquires the at least one microscopic image. |
