Microorganisms and methods for co-production of ethylene glycol and tricarbons |
abstract |
The present application relates to recombinant microorganisms useful in the biosynthesis of monoethylene glycol (MEG) and one or more three carbon compounds such as acetone, isopropanol or propylene. The MEG and one or more three-carbon compounds described herein can be used as starting materials for the production of other compounds or as end products for industrial and domestic use. The present application also relates to recombinant microorganisms co-expressing the C2 branch and the C3 branch for the production of MEG and one or more three-carbon compounds. Also provided are methods of producing MEG and one or more three-carbon compounds using the recombinant microorganism, as well as compositions comprising the recombinant microorganism and/or the optional product MEG and one or more three-carbon compounds. |
