A method of making a geopolymer foam is presented comprising providing a foamable formulation, foaming the formulation, and hardening the foamed formulation. The foamable formulation comprises: at least one inorganic binder selected from latent hydraulic binders, pozzolan binders and mixtures thereof; at least one selected from alkali metal hydroxides, alkali metal carbonates, Alkaline activators for alkali metal aluminates, alkali metal silicates and mixtures thereof; at least one surfactant; nanocellulose and water. The mechanical properties of the foam were improved by the introduction of nanocellulose. |
