abstract |
The present invention provides a non-aqueous lubricant composition comprising a base stock and at least 0.02 wt% of a friction reducing additive comprising a block copolymer of at least one block A and at least one block B, the block A is an oligomeric or polyester residue of a hydroxycarboxylic acid, the block B is a residue of a polyalkylene glycol. The present invention also provides that block copolymers of at least one block A and at least one block B reduce the coefficient of kinetic friction in non-aqueous lubricant compositions when compared to an equivalent lubricant composition without the block copolymer The block A is the oligomeric or polyester residue of hydroxycarboxylic acid, and the block B is the residue of polyalkylene glycol. |
