Spinal curvature adjustment systems, methods, and related devices and instruments are disclosed that include a flexible tether, a tether tensioning unit, and a bone anchor for the flexible tether that allow the tether to be secured to multiple vertebrae in a treatment area. When a flexible tether is attached to multiple vertebrae, it can be used to correct spinal deformities. The tension of the flexible tether can be adjusted percutaneously without invasive surgery by using a remotely driven actuator (eg, a magnetically driven motor), or a small tool insertable through a small incision. Thus, the disclosed systems and methods enable multiple adjustments to tether tension and spinal curvature over time without the need for repetitive, highly invasive spinal surgery. |
