Delivery device with encapsulation excipient |
abstract |
Osmotic delivery devices with coated asymmetric membranes of large particle solubility modifiers. The device includes an active agent, an osmotic agent, a coated macroparticle solubility modifier and an asymmetric membrane encapsulating these components in the device. The device can be used to deliver active formulations to aqueous use environments. Coated large particles can modulate the solubility of the active agent, allowing for a controlled release. Larger sized solubility modifier macroparticles can provide, for example, a longer release time than smaller sized particles. |
