titleOfInvention Method, image processor, and apparatus for viewing objects containing a blob of fluorophores
abstract The present invention relates to methods, image processors and medical viewing devices such as microscopes or endoscopes for viewing objects comprising a mass of at least one fluorophore. According to the method, a set of component signals is provided. The time series of input frames are accessed one input frame after another. In the viewing area of the current input frame of the time series, the fluorescence intensity is determined at at least one fluorescence emission wavelength of the fluorophore. This fluorescence intensity is combined with the fluorescence intensities of the observed regions of the previous input frame of the time series to generate a time series of the fluorescence intensities of the observed regions. The timing is decomposed into a preferably linear combination of at least some of the component signals of the set. A new set of component signals is provided that includes only those component signals that are present in the combination. An output frame is generated in which the viewing area is assigned colors from the color space according to the combination of the component signals.
