abstract The invention discloses a controllable/active free radical polymerization method for regulating and controlling organic antimony in ionic liquid, wherein the method takes the ionic liquid as a reaction medium, adds an oxidant and an organic antimony compound, and carries out polymerization of monomers under the atmosphere of protective gas to obtain a polymerization product. The organic antimony compound is used as a chain transfer agent and a reducing agent, can perform oxidation-reduction reaction with an oxidant to initiate polymerization, can be performed at a low temperature, and is more controllable due to the fact that the ionic liquid is used as a reaction medium. The method can be carried out at low temperature, so that the method not only saves energy, but also has potential industrial application value and promotes industrialization of free radical living polymerization.
