abstract | The present invention relates to a coated cutting tool having a hard coating on the surface of the tool. The hard coating is a nitride, and the content ratio of titanium (Ti) is 70 atomic % or more and 95 atomic % or less, and the silicon (Si) content ratio is 5 atomic % or more and 30 atomic % with respect to the total amount of metal (including semi-metallic) elements. At % or less, the argon (Ar) content is 0.1 at % or less with respect to the total amount of metal elements (including semimetals) and non-metal elements. The hard coating has a NaCl-type crystal structure and an average crystal grain size of 5 nm or more and 30 nm or less. In each composition at a depth of 20 nm to 200 nm of the hard coating, when the total content ratio of metal (including semi-metallic) elements, nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon is 100 atomic %, the nitrogen content ratio is 50.0 atomic % or more . |
