This article describes wearable devices and methods for detecting the presence of target substances in liquids. For example, a wearable device could be a fingernail that detects illicit drugs in beverages. The wearable device includes a detection layer including an indicator configured to display a signal when an interaction with a target substance is detected. In some examples, the wearable device can include a lateral flow meter. |
