abstract The invention belongs to the technical field of determination of precious metal content in ores, and particularly relates to a method for determining platinum and palladium content in nickel ores by utilizing inductively coupled plasma emission spectroscopy. The method specifically comprises (1) a sample preparation process; (2) a sulphur removal process; (3) a material preparation process; (4) a melting process; (5) ash blowing process; (6) washing process; (7) dissolving; (8) drawing a working curve; (9) and (4) ICP measurement. The method can effectively solve the problem that the platinum and palladium content in the nickel ore can not be determined in the prior art, the lead button with the appearance and the quality meeting the requirements can be obtained through one-time batching, a reducing force test and a secondary gold test are not needed, the analysis cost is reduced, the analysis time is shortened, impurity elements in a sample are removed through pretreatment, and the accuracy of determining the platinum and palladium content is improved.
