titleOfInvention | Polypeptide compounds having antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activity |
abstract | The invention discloses a polypeptide compound with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory activities, belonging to the technical field of biology. The amino acid sequence of the polypeptide compound is: IGKLFKRIVQLIK or IGKLFKRIVQLIL, designated as IG-13-1 and IG-13-2, respectively. The polypeptide compound is a novel polypeptide compound which effectively acts on the bacterial membrane structure of the streptococcus mutans, inhibits the activity of the streptococcus mutans and the formation of a biological membrane thereof by interfering the integrity of the bacterial membrane, and thus has the effects of preventing and treating dental caries. The antibacterial activity test shows that the MIC values of the two peptides are 5.0 mu M, and the sterilization rate of the two peptides is superior to that of the CHX which is a more anti-caries drug currently used. Notably, the biofilm formation inhibition assay showed that IG-13-1 and IG-13-2 were present in MBIC 50 The concentration of 5.91 +/-0.91 and 7.58 +/-0.23 mu M can inhibit the growth of the streptococcus mutans biofilm. |
