abstract A random number sequence generation device (1) is provided with: a semiconductor laser device (11) that repeatedly generates pulsed laser light in which the phase of each pulse is disordered; an interferometer (12) having: a 1 st transmission line (22) and a 2 nd transmission line (23) having transmission line lengths different from each other, a 1 st port (24) connected to the input end (20) side and inputting the pulse laser light, a 2 nd port (25) connected to the output end (21) side and outputting the pulse laser light via either of the transmission lines, and a 3 rd port (26) connected to the input end (20) side; a Faraday mirror (50) connected to the 2 nd port and reflecting the pulse laser beam; a photodiode (51) connected to the 3 rd port (26) and outputting an electrical signal based on interference light of the pulsed laser light reflected by the Faraday mirror (50) and transmitted through any one of the transmission paths; and an AD conversion unit (53) which generates a random number sequence on the basis of the magnitude relationship between the signal intensity of the electric signal and the threshold value.
