The present invention relates to an ion exchange resin for the production of bisphenols, in particular 4,4'-isopropylene diphenol, with a high conversion percentage and a high bisphenol selectivity percentage, wherein the ion exchange resin comprises a sulfonic acid group of aromatic polymers, the sulfonic acid groups are modified with at least one accelerator selected from the group consisting of compounds of structures (I), (II), (III), (IV) or their amine salts: wherein, R represents a hydrocarbon unit with 1-6 carbon atoms selected from alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, phenyl or optionally a hydrocarbon containing a carbonyl group with 1-6 carbon atoms; x represents a heteroatom; n is an integer from 1 to 4. |
