An apparatus (100) having a surface (21, 22, 23, 24) and an anti-biofouling system (10) comprising at least one light source (11, 12) for at least a majority of the surface Performing an anti-biofouling action, the at least one light source (11, 12) is adapted to emit rays of anti-biofouling light. The surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24) are configured relative to each other and to the at least one light source (11, 12) such that during operation of the at least one light source, the surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24) are at least largely unshaded with respect to rays of anti-biofouling light from said at least one light source (11, 12), wherein it is possible that rays of anti-biofouling light pass along said surface ( 21, 22, 23, 24) swept across to reach said surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24). |
