abstract | An apparatus, comprising: the apparatus includes means for stimulating the left ventricle, means for detecting atrial and ventricular events, and means for applying an atrioventricular delay (AVD) between a detected or stimulated atrial event and delivering stimulation to the left ventricle. The fusion between the stimulation of the left ventricle and the spontaneous contraction of the left ventricle is detected and quantified (fusion rate) between two extremes corresponding to full capture and rhythm with spontaneous depolarization. The atrioventricular delay is dynamically adapted in dependence on a comparison between i) a current value of the fusion rate calculated by the quantification means and ii) a target value (target zone) of the fusion rate. |
