titleOfInvention Non-Aspirated Shipping Gel Dispenser
abstract A non-aspirating dispenser containing a gel for dispensing to a desired surface, such as a medical article. More specifically, a gel that dispenses as droplets without air or gas and has reduced drift. The dispenser has therein a flexible bag containing a closed thixotropic gel and has the ability to exert pressure on the bag and cause the gel to flow in a steady stream by pressing an actuator operably connected to a discharge valve. form pressurized gas that exits the bag. The bag is propellant free and does not generate aerosols. The gel is thixotropic and serves to keep the medical device moist to prevent contamination present on it from drying out, which can make reprocessing of the medical device more difficult and less effective.
